Weekend Reads

How is it possible that tomorrow is already August? This crazy year is flying by.. although maybe it’s not a bad thing that 2021 hurries up and gets here. I usually try really hard to not wish precious time away, but 2020 feels like it should be an exception. I’m looking forward to summer ending and the crisp fresh beginnings of fall.. with them I’m praying for some extra kindness to come back into our country. We desperately need it.

This week has been hot in New England! We’ve spent a lot of time trying to stay cool indoors but have managed to enjoy some cooler early morning and evening weather outside.. we even found time to bring our kayaks out on the lake.

I’m still trying to make friends with the baby bunnies that live under our deck.. turns out, they prefer Ritz crackers over graham crackers. And we set up a hummingbird feeder outside our kitchen window which has been so amazing to watch. These tiny little birds fluttering their wings so fast and hovering in air. They are quite graceful and lovely.

What adventures do you have planned for your first August weekend? Maybe a beach day, a picnic in the park or a trip to your favorite ice cream shop (see mine here)? Whatever it is you’re doing, soak it all up and enjoy every moment.
