Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Jackson had to put his new passport to use and what better way than a trip with both grandparents to paradise? Our post-holiday-season-blues weren’t as blue as usual since we booked a trip to the Dominican Republic in January! It was such a wonderful trip, filled with not a single plan. We spent our mornings walking the beach and eating breakfast overlooking the waves, middays lounging by the pool and playing in the water with Jackson, and evenings eating delicious dinners together followed by coffee shop visits and ice cream. We even managed to squeeze in a couple trips to the spa for a massage and facial since we had grandparents along to watch the little man. It was truly one of my favorite trips and one that I will always remember. How special it was for Jackson to get so much individual time with his grandparents.

We stayed at the Majestic Mirage and loved it. It was an all inclusive resort, less than 30 minutes away from the airport, the rooms were huge, the pool and beaches beautiful, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!

All ready at the airport for take off until…

… Jackson (who has never peed through his outfit in public, ever) peed through everything and needed a complete outfit change!

First stop when we arrived… lunch, but mostly ice cream (as evident by Jackson’s chocolate face). Pure happiness.

Bathing suits on, drinks in hand, and straight to the beach.

Which started off okay…

…but quickly turned into a meltdown. Poor little man was terrified of the waves.

But give this kid a floaty and the pool and he is in heaven. Jackson even took his first steps (without assistance) on this little pool ledge!

My in-laws at dinner.

Three generations… can you tell they’re related?

Matching shirts with Daddy… the cutest thing ever.

The whole gang.

After dinner coffee shop and music with my Mom.

Jackson with all his ladies.

Thankfully, by the end of the trip Jackson warmed up to the beach and enjoyed playing in the sand.

I can just imagine the stories Jackson is attempting to tell his Daddy right now, with a side of sass.

Morning sunrise walks.

And another outfit change at the airport before heading home… Jackson’s face is just priceless.

Until next time, Punta Cana.

Love, Jessica
