Every once in awhile, an average day turns into one for the memory books. Usually they are unplanned and spur of the moment adventures. They leave your hair messy, your eyes sparkling. These are the best days. This past Saturday was one of these days for me. A perfect day. One of my favorite days in a long time.
Saturday morning we headed to Boston. The sun was shining. The air was warm with a crispness that comes with springtime on the water. The cherry blossoms and daffodils were in full bloom. It was the best weather for wandering around my favorite city with not a single plan on our agenda.
We started our day on the Charles River Esplanade.

Before lunch, we walked through the Back Bay admiring the brownstones and spring flowers and trying to come up with a plan on how to become multimillionaires so we can buy one of them.

Next, we headed to one of my favorite places, Eataly. Thankfully we don’t live close enough to one for regular visits because I would spend too much time and too much money there but we usually end up at Eataly whenever we visit the city. We had brunch at their rooftop restaurant Terra. They had a fantastic spring wine flight, the atmosphere was beautiful and Jackson sat at his first bar and made the bartenders smile.

Finally, we grabbed a drink at Tatte (my first matcha latte which was delicious) and made our way to the Boston Public Garden for more flower-gazing and wandering.

It was a day spent with my two favorite people, exploring my favorite city and not having a care in the world or a place to be except together. These are the memories I will always cherish.
