Merely one week ago, it would have never crossed our minds that grocery stores would be empty, businesses mandated to close, schools cancelled for weeks and gatherings over 25 people prohibited. Sure, maybe in other countries this kind of madness could happen, but not us.. not the United States.. not in our wildest dreams. This is the sort of plot writers think about for thriller movies and novels, not reality.
Except now this is our reality and we need to find a way to deal with it. Tragedy and difficult times bring people together and our situation is no exception. We need to unite and fight this battle so that we come out victorious.
Each one of us play a part. Some work selling necessary supplies at grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations. Others work on the front line as first responders and healthcare providers. And some of us must simply adhere to limiting our contact with others. Whichever category you are a part of, you and your role are important and pivotal in digging ourselves out of this mess.
I read this quote today and wanted to share. I would give credit where credit is due but have no idea who Sonia is.
In a time where we are bombarded with disappointing and devastating news, I think it’s so important to remember that this cannot last forever and it will pass. In time, our lives will return to normal, our businesses restored, our dreams brought back to life and our communities rejuvenated. In the mean time, stay positive, stay safe and help wherever you are able. We will get through this together and we will be stronger than ever before.
