Is there anything better than having a day with absolutely nothing to do except plop yourself down on the couch to binge watch your favorite show (preferable with lots of blankets and snacks)? During the cold and gray winter months, these days are my favorite kind. On days off, hubby and I usually get a workout in, clean up the house (I can’t relax without a tidy house), shower, dress in the comfiest sweats we can find and spend the afternoon in front of a fire and show. It’s the best. Here are some of our favorites.
The Punisher. One of my favorite shows ever. Frank Castle is a Marine veteran turned vigilante who is out to avenge those who murdered his family. The first season was amazing and the second season (recently released on Netflix) is just as good! You’ll be on the edge of your seat the whole time.. even I hardly fell asleep during these episodes, which is a massive feat (just ask my husband).
The Jinx. When a dismembered body is found in the waters of Galveston, Texas, investigators start looking for answers. This 6 part HBO documentary delves into the mysterious murders of three people and how the real estate heir Robert Durst is connected. The end will give you goose bumps.
Nikita. Saved from death row by a secret organization, Nikita became a trained assassin that has gone rogue. She’s a complete badass.. one day I want to fight like her character. One day.
Ozark. Not your typical all American family. A financial advisor drags his family from Chicago to Missouri where he is forced to launder money for a drug cartel. Similar to Breaking Bad but different enough to keep you intrigued!
Mindhunter. Set in the 1970s, FBI agents seek to understand serial killers using criminal profiling and psychology. Is it weird that we’ve all become fascinated with serial killers? I think so… but it’s also so interesting how the brain works and these people seem so disconnected and empty. It’s actually terrifying.
