Merry December 26th! I hope you all had an amazing holiday filled with family, friends and so much love.. I know we sure did.. especially because neither of us had to work Christmas Eve or Christmas Day!We spent Christmas Eve at my brother-in-law and sister-in-law’s house with our niece and nephew. There was a stretch of years without any kiddos during the holidays as my generation transitioned from the kids to the adults and Christmas just wasn’t the same! There is nothing quite like watching the excitement on the little ones’ faces as they get ready for Santa to come. It’s magical and I love it so very much.
This little guy is at the best age for Christmas.. he was so full of energy (I wish I had even a quarter of it on a daily basis) and bouncing around with excitement. We spent the evening exchanging gifts for our first secret Santa, eating all kinds of appetizers and desserts, playing with Mr. Colton and cuddling baby Charlotte.
When we got home, hubby made us a fire while I popped popcorn and poured some wine.. we snuggled up on the couch in front of our tree to watch “Home Alone” before heading to bed.
Then, we woke bright and early to exchange gifts with each other and our puppies. We host brunch on Christmas morning for some of hubby’s family, my dad’s side and my brothers.. so much food and, most importantly, my homemade eggnog cinnamon rolls which were delicious!
It was such a wonderful morning.
The final stop of our Christmas celebrations was my Mom’s house for dinner. Since we did the big Christmas celebration last weekend, Mom’s house was much more low key and relaxing. We made a puzzle, watched “The Grinch” and ate too many cookies.
This past Christmas was my favorite so far and I can’t wait to see what the New Year has in store for us!
