Chocolate Peppermint Smoothie

Is there a better combination than chocolate and peppermint during the holiday season? Last year, I bought everything chocolate peppermint that Trader Joe’s had to offer because I love it so much. Then I found out I was pregnant. And then the food aversions kicked in. I couldn’t stand or stomach the combination and everything ended up in the trash (yes, even those mini chocolate peppermint ice cream cones that sell out so fast)!

This year, however, I am not pregnant and I am making this smoothie on repeat. It tastes like a delicious treat but is filled with healthy, nutritious ingredients. And it’s toddler approved.


Chocolate Peppermint Smoothie

4 ice cubes

3/4 cup milk of choice

1/2 frozen banana

1 scoop chocolate protein powder

1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract

1 teaspoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon raw honey

Sprinkle of sea salt

1 cup fresh spinach

Directions: Blend all ingredients together for 1 minute and until smooth. Pour into your favorite glass. Enjoy!
