Since Jackson was born, I’ve been making footprint art with him each season… and now his little brother Spencer is joining in. I frame and hang them in our entryway and each time I walk through the door they bring a smile to my face. It’s a fun tradition and I love looking back to see how much their little feet have grown over the months/years.
Be prepared to get a little messy (it’s all part of the fun) and have a bunch of damp paper towels ready to wipe up rogue paint. I recommend placing your kiddo in their highchair when you paint their feet (less ability for them to wiggle away) and using a hard book behind the paper for a solid surface. We also make a couple extra of each design to give to grandparents… they love them!
Don’t fret if you mess up a bunch before getting the hang of sticking their wiggly foot on the paper… and remember, they don’t have to come out perfectly. Many of ours end up smudged and with only 4 toes!
Below I’m sharing some of the artwork we’ve done as well as some other ideas I found online that are cute. Happy painting!

These bears would also be cute if you used darker paper and made white polar bears with snow rather than grass.
