I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I walked down the aisle in the Dominican Republic towards my handsome groom to exchange our wedding vows. Side note: good thing our wedding wasn’t planned for this year with all these people dying of unknown causes in the Dominican.. Yikes! This year has been the greatest of my life so far and I know each one will just continue to get better. I married my best friend and I’m so very lucky.

This year was an exciting and busy one for us. We visited Newport mansions, hosted get-togethers, laughed a lot, cried a little, became wine snobs in Napa, re-learned how to snowboard in Vermont, explored New York City and Boston, attempted (and failed) business endeavors, tore an ACL, renovated our old house and bought our dream home. It’s been nothing short of amazing.

The traditional gift for first year wedding anniversaries is paper. Since September 8, 2018 I’ve been preparing hubby’s gift and I was so excited to show him my finished project. Every day for the entire year I wrote a reason I love him in a book. It’s filled with memories throughout our first year as husband and wife and a book we’ll treasure forever.

Hubby bought us tickets (paper) for Boston adventures as an anniversary gift. Although we live only 40 minutes from my favorite city and visit often, we’ve never actually acted as tourists. We started the day with a Segway tour of Boston, Charleston and Cambridge.. it was an amazing way to explore different parts of the city and there are lots of areas we stumbled upon that I can’t wait to go back and visit!After the Segway tour we grabbed a quick lunch at Quincy Market and jumped on a Duck boat. Our tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable of Boston’s history which was great to hear again (because I hardly remember anything from middle school history class). The Duck boat tour took us through the city where we saw many historical landmarks and ended with a boat ride on the Charles river.

I  highly recommend either of these tours if you are visiting Boston and recommend them even more if you are from Boston! There is so much history to hear and so many sites to see in our backyard that we don’t even realize and take for granted!

We ended our afternoon in the city with a cappuccino and cannoli in the North End. Perfection.
